Additional information: Italian postcard from the Second World War showing Italian and German soldiers attempting to hold a door against the Bolshevik monster. The postcard was produced for use by soldiers at the front (the reverse reading ‘Cartolina Postale per le Forze Armate’) and includes a quote from a speech delivered by King Victor Emmanuel III following Italy’s entry into the war in June 1940: ‘United with you like never before, I am confident that the patriotic valour of the Italian people will once again secure victory for our glorious armies’. A number of similar postcards were produced by the Italian military at the time showing Italian soldiers participating in the war on the Eastern Front.
