German cartoon, 1919

Text: To the short-sighted: “Are you looking for the truth? When she appears, you’ll wish her back to hell!”

Additional information: Cartoon shows Hindenburg pulling back a curtain to reveal a socialist Medusa stabbing a German soldier in the back. Published shortly after Hindenburg’s testimony before a parliamentary committee on the causes of German defeat in WW1.
