Additional information: The poster depicts a farmer, soldier, and politician representing the people’s welfare, nationalism, and democracy. The ‘Three Principles’ were set out by Sun Yat-sen, father of the Republic of China, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as a guiding philosophy of the future Republic. This poster was issued by the Kuomintang’s National Revolutionary Army Headquarters.
