Additional information: Published during American, British and French air strikes in Iraq. The air strikes began on 13 January and were launched in retaliation for Iraqi violations of the no-fly-zone established at the end of the Gulf War. Largely targeting anti-air units, the bombing campaign would last for just over a week and result in several civilian deaths, the downing of an Iraqi plane and the destruction of several Iraqi anti-air sites.
