Additional information: The top photo was taken by Manel Armengol in February 1976 during a protest organised by the anti-Franco group Assembly of Catalonia. The demonstration was held three months after Franco’s death, with protesters calling for ‘liberty, amnesty and autonomy’, and was violently suppressed.
