A Voice from the Past (American illustration, 1905)

Additional information: Published at the start of the 1905 Revolution in Russia, the illustration shows the ghost of Louis XVI pointing to ‘La Guillotine’ and warning Tsar Nicholas II to heed the pleas of his subjects lest he suffer a similar fate.
