Korea for Christ (Christian stamp, 1934)

Additional Information: The stamp commemorates fifty years of Methodist missionary work in Korea. Designed by American missionary Dr. Sherwood Hall, it depicts a Christian building churches around Korea, with a cross in the top right corner and the Bible in the bottom right corner. Missionary work in Korea began in 1884, and Hall, who spent around forty years in Korea, contributed significantly to medical services and the establishment of hospitals, schools, and institutes in the country. The image below shows the seal on a Christmas-themed envelope with text reading: ‘A seal on each letter helps many get better’.
