Finlandia Invicta (British stamp, 1940)

Text: Finlandia Invicta [Invincible Finland].

Year: ca. 1940

Publisher: NA.

Artist: NA.

Additional information: Issued in support of Finland during the Winter War, depicting a soldier in winter gear standing over a mother and child. While no creator is indicated on the stamp, it is possible that it was produced by the London-based “Finland Fund,” which issued various printed ephemera during the war to support the Finnish war effort. Pictured below on a letter sent in April 1940 (by which point the war was over).
