Additional information: This poster featuring Mussolini was displayed during his state visit to Libya in 1937, then an Italian colony. The visit included various events such as rallies, the inauguration of a new highway, and a ceremony where Mussolini was proclaimed the ‘Protector of Islam’. Additionally, there was a ceremony where Mussolini was presented with the ‘Sword of Islam’. The image below shows the same placard along with one featuring Italian King Victor Emmanuel III.
